The Spring Fayre took place on 2,3,4 May where the
Free Capability Brown exhibition was opened by BBC Presenter Marian Foster (pictured).
On the Monday afternoon, visitors to St Wilfrid's Church, Kirkharle, could not only enjoy the visual delights of the flower festival and the fragrance of the flowers but they were also treated to a marvellous concert by the new, up and coming chamber ensemble 'Plura Videte Baroque' (pictured). The progamme notes told us that the ensemble of graduates from York University were passionate about creating exciting, historically informed performances, and indeed, their passion shone through as the music played by Purcell, Telemann, Bach and others had that swinging quality of an excellent baroque concert. 'Plura Videte Baroque' consists of Emma Lake and Bianca Brajuha, violin; Sally Desmond, Viola; Sam Stadlen, Cello; and Andrew Passmore, Harpsichord - Andrew being a native of these parts, a one-time organ scholar at Hexham Abbey.
An audience of over 80 people enjoyed yet another highlight towards the end of a busy bank holiday
weekend for Kirkharle Church.
